Mary Bomela joined the MIC in 2010 and previously served as a Non-Executive Director from March 2008 to 2010.
Before joining the MIC, Mary was the Chief Financial Officer at Freight Dynamics. Prior to this, she was an executive in the Corporate Services division of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mary also held executive positions in the resources, media, utilities and financial services sectors.
She serves on the boards of a number of the company’s strategic investments. These include: Primedia (Pty) Ltd, BP Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd, FirstRand Group Ltd, Metrofile Holdings Ltd, Peermont Global Holdings and Torre Industries.
Langa Manqele is the chairman of BMF (Black Management Forum) in Gauteng and EXCO member of the BMF.
Langa holds a Bachelors Degree in International Finance and Investments and a SAP Business Systems Certification, both from CIDA City Campus. He is currently a Senior Manager at Nedbank CIB Markets where he is responsible for the bank’s Global Markets Trading Support and some Corporate lending systems.
He is a recipient of the Nedbank Top Achiever 2014 and Nedbank Achiever 2012 awards. Langa is currently studying towards a Senior Management Programme (SMP) with GIBS.
William Asiko is the Executive Director of Grow Africa. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Grow Africa is a partnership between the African Union (AU), the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) which works to increase private sector investment in agriculture, and accelerate the execution and impact of investment commitments
Prior to that William was the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Climate Facility for Africa (ICF) an international organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania that works with African Governments to help improve the enabling environment for business and commerce in their countries.
Until his appointment as CEO of ICF in May 2013, William was the President of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation. His career with The Coca-Cola Company spanned nearly 20 years in varying roles of increasing responsibility starting in 1995 as in house corporate attorney in his home country, Kenya and included tours of duty in the United States, Morocco, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
William was recently invited to join the board of W.E. Can Lead in Atlanta, USA. W.E. Can Lead is CNN’s Isha Sesay’s charitable foundation whose mission is to empower Africa’s adolescent girls, unlock their leadership potential and set them on a path towards changing their lives and communities. William also currently serves on the boards of Rotarians for Family Health & Aids Prevention, in Atlanta, USA and the Discovery Channel’s foundation, the Discovery Learning Alliance in Washington DC respectively. In 2010 William was appointed by the President of the Republic of Togo to the International Investment Advisory Council of Togo and in that capacity advises the Togolese Cabinet on investment and development matters.
William has previously served on the boards of the African Leadership Academy in South Africa, The Coca-Cola Juice Company of Kenya, The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Egypt and The Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Barcelona, Spain.
Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, William served 5 years as State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General for Kenya and 2 years as a partner in the law firm of Hamilton Harrison & Mathews in Nairobi, Kenya. William was educated in Kenya, where he earned a law degree from the University of Nairobi in 1987 and in the United States, where he graduated with an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2005. He is a non-practicing member of the Kenya Bar.
Dr Khosa holds a PhD (1992) from Oxford University (UK) and a MA (1988) (Master of Arts) degree from Wits University (South Africa). Dr Khosa’s previous experience includes university lecturer at the University of Natal (1992 – 1995), Cambridge University as a Research Fellow (January – December 1995), Director for Centre for African Transformation (1996-1998), Executive Research Director at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) in the public sector (1998 – 2001), and General Manager at MTN in the ICT sector (2001 – 2006). Since 2007, Dr Khosa has established several successful coaching, consulting and technology companies.
Dr Khosa has achieved coaching certificates and credentials from several local and international institutions, including the University of Cape Town (Foundations of Corporate Executive Coaching 2013), University of Johannesburg & Orion Business Solutions (Life and Business Coaching 2008), New Ventures West in the USA (Integral Coaching Principles 2008), Centre for Coaching at UCT (Coaching to Excellence 2007) and from legendary Master Coach Bob Proctor at the Gallagher Proctor Institute (Life Success Consultant and Coach 2010, Thinking Into Results Consultant and Coach 2014).
Dr Khosa is also accredited by the ETDP Seta as a Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator of programmes with the Public Sector Seta and the Services Seta. In 2014 he received the Train the Trainer Certification from T. Harv Eker (Success Resources), which was facilitated by Blair Singer.
Apart from coaching certification, Dr Khosa holds several certificates from the University of Cape Town, which include Certificate in Executive Coaching (2012), Certificate in Financial Management Certificate (2013), Certificate in Small Business Management (2013), Certificate in Copy Writing for Online Media (2013), Certificate in Import and Export Management, and Certificate in Practical Labour Course (2014).
Dr Khosa is a member of COMENSA, a professional member of the Public Speakers Association of South Africa, member of the Institute of Directors of Southern Africa, a member of the Association for Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP), and a member of the Progressive Professional Forum (PPF). Dr Khosa is currently Chairperson of the Black Management Forum Tshwane Branch, and has been elected a Fellow of the South African Institute of Management. Through Fresh Thinking Coaching (Pty) Ltd (established in 2011), Dr Khosa is currently a director of one of South Africa’s largest public sector coaching programmes with over 1000 executives on a coaching programme.
Thembi Chagonda currently is the Managing Director for Global Business Solutions for the last 12 years, and has extensive experience consulting in the fields of Human Resource Management, transformation in the workplace- employment equity, skills development, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment and human capital. Her current work includes consulting on for
large and multinational companies. She also provides training in labour relations and chairs disciplinary enquiries for some clients. Her career started 21 years ago, working for the Adcorp Holdings group companies such as Quest, Admark Recruitment Advertising and Simeka. Her work experience included recruitment and selection, performance management, marketing and business development before joining the current employer.
Thembi holds a Degree in Social Science, majoring in Industrial Psychology & Sociology from Rhodes University. She also achieved a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law in 2005 and is an accredited Assessor and Moderator. In 2016 she received accreditation in 4MAT Learning Design for About Learning an institution accredited through Michigan University.
Recent appointment as a Commissioner to serve in the Employment Equity Commission to represent business. In 2014 she was nominated finalist Top Black Female Leader of the Year Award category of the 13th Oliver Empowerment Award.
Thembi is a board member of the ASDSA (Association for Skills Development in South Africa), the IoD (Institute of Directors). She is involved in a number of initiatives to promote transformation in the workplace and in education. She is a chairs the Nordex Education Trust and Siyakha Education Trust. She is director of Khulisani a company that creates employment/ and entrepreneurship for People with Disabilities. She also serves as a Director at Resilient REIT a listed property company since 2008. She also chairs in the Remuneration Committee, a member of the Social and Ethics Committee and Nomination Committee.
In 2015 she climbed Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the Chaeli Campaign- Early Childhood Development Centre for disabled children. Thembi is a wife and mother of 3 children and is passionate about spending time with family.
